chateau-latour-les-forts-1er-owc-2017
Château Latour Les Forts 2017

Les Forts de Latour is the second wine of Château Latour, a renowned winery in the Bordeaux region of France. The 2017 vintage is considered a rather difficult one in Bordeaux, but some wineries like Château Latour still produced remarkable wines.

The 2017 Les Forts de Latour is an elegant red wine made from a blend of different grape varieties, with a high proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon. Often considered the "little brother" of Château Latour Grand Vin, this wine represents a slightly more accessible and early-drinking version of the wine.

In the glass, Les Forts de Latour 2017 displays an intense ruby red color with violet reflections. On the nose, it unfolds a finely balanced bouquet with aromas of black cherries, blackberries, and cassis. These fruit aromas are accompanied by subtle spicy notes such as cedarwood, tobacco, and a light mineral presence.

On the palate, the wine presents itself elegantly with silky tannins and a balanced acidity. The dark fruit aromas continue, accompanied by hints of vanilla, dark chocolate, and a touch of smoke. The 2017 Les Forts de Latour is distinguished by its finesse and elegance, although it lacks the same depth and complexity as the Château Latour Grand Vin.

Nevertheless, Les Forts de Latour 2017 offers an impressive drinking experience, especially for wine lovers who prefer an approachable and early-drinking wine. It is pleasant to drink and displays good structure and balanced integration of flavors. It is possible to enjoy the wine at a young age, but it also has the potential to develop with further ageing in the bottle.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0733/7033/7601/files/Les-Forts-De-Latour-2017-Fullview-Vintage-Grapes-GmbH.jpg?v=1784844227
