Darmagi Langhe 2018

Darmagi" means "what a pity" in German. That's what Angelo Gaja's father said disapprovingly when he found out that his son wanted to plant French grape varieties in Piedmont.
Inspired by his father's disappointment, Angelo Gaja named the area below his house, where he planted Cabernet Sauvignon instead of Nebbiolo, Darmagi. He wanted to demonstrate to the wine world that Italian oenology is also capable of producing a world-class Cabernet Sauvignon.
