Parker über Valpolicella Monte Lodoletta 2003
The 2003 Valpolicella Superiore comes across as shockingly primary for a five-year old wine. Masses of jammy dark fruit flow onto the palate in a concentrated, generous style. The firm tannins are those of the torrid 2003 vintage, yet this broad-shouldered, expansive wine has more than enough fruit to provide balance. Notes of chocolate, leather, coffee and sweet spices gradually emerge with air, yet this remains a backward, unyielding wine at the moment. As with the 2004, this wine needs serious bottle age, or eight to ten hours of air for those adventurous enough to take it for a test drive now.

Valpolicella Monte Lodoletta 2003
The Valpolicella from Romano dal Forno has become the flagship of the winery.
Other winemakers would be happy if they could achieve this quality with their Amarone.
This is a kind of Super Valpolicella, highly concentrated, complex and very long-lasting.

Informationen zum Winzer:
When it was founded in 1983, Romano dal Forno laid the foundation for a winery whose reputation as the origin of fine wines would soon precede him. The then 26-year-old winemaker was inspired by a meeting with the legendary Giuseppe Quintarelli, who is often simply referred to as the "Maestro del Veneto", not only with regard to his top wines, each a masterpiece in its own way.
