Château Ormes de Pez is a prestigious winery in the Bordeaux wine-growing region, specifically in the Saint-Estèphe appellation in the Médoc. The estate is a Cru Bourgeois winery and is known for its high-quality red wines, prized for their structure and longevity.

The history of Château Ormes de Pez dates back to the 18th century. The name "Ormes" refers to the elm trees (French: ormes) that once adorned the estate, and "Pez" is the name of the hamlet where the winery is located. Since 1940, the winery has been owned by the Cazes family, who also own the famous Château Lynch-Bages in Pauillac.

The winery comprises approximately 40 hectares of vineyards, planted primarily with the classic Bordeaux grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. The soils consist of gravelly clay soils, which give the wines their typical structure and complexity.

The wines of Château Ormes de Pez are characterized by their power, finesse, and balance. They offer aromas of dark fruits such as black currants and plums, accompanied by spicy notes, cedar wood, and a fine mineral note. The tannins are well-structured and ensure excellent aging potential.

Winemaking at Château Ormes de Pez is carried out with great care and respects traditional methods. The grapes are harvested by hand and vinified gently to best preserve the natural aromas and characteristics of the terroir. Aging takes place in oak barrels, which lends the wines additional complexity and depth.

Château Ormes de Pez enjoys an excellent reputation among wine lovers and critics worldwide. The estate's wines are suitable for both immediate consumption and long-term cellaring, offering an authentic tasting experience that reflects the long tradition and excellence of Saint-Estèphe wines.
