Located in the northwest corner of the Castile-Léon region, Bierzo is one of Spain's smallest wine regions, covering around 4,000 hectares. At altitudes between 500 and 1,000 meters in Bierzo, the red grapes Mencía and Garnacha Tintorera and the white grapes Doña Blanca, Godello and Palomina are mainly grown.
