Château d'Armailhac

Château d'Armailhac is a Cinquième Cru Classé winery in Pauillac, known for its elegant, structured, and long-aging wines. It has belonged to the Rothschild family (Château Mouton Rothschild) since 1933 and benefits from their expertise and highest quality standards.

The estate comprises approximately 70 hectares of vineyards planted on the gravelly soils typical of Pauillac, which ensure excellent drainage and offer the vines optimal growing conditions. The main grape variety is Cabernet Sauvignon, complemented by Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. This blend gives the wines a balance of power, finesse, and aromatic depth.

Vinification is carried out using state-of-the-art technology while maintaining classic Bordeaux traditions. The grapes are selectively harvested by hand, fermented at controlled temperatures, and then aged for approximately 18 months in oak barrels, a large proportion of which are renewed annually. This lends the wines additional structure and subtle spicy notes.

Château d'Armailhac is characterized by complex aromas of cassis, black cherries, tobacco, and delicate toasted notes. The tannins are velvety yet present, and the wines possess remarkable freshness and length. They are often charmingly approachable in their youth, but develop impressive depth and elegance with age.

With its classic Pauillac style, characterized by finesse, structure, and longevity, Château d'Armailhac offers excellent value for money within the Bordeaux classification and is one of the region's most reliable wines.
