The wine-growing region is located in the vicinity of the city of the same name in the Castile-León region. It is a classic red wine region with a cultivation area of ​​around 6,000 hectares. The dominant variety is Tinta de Toro, a local variant of Tempranillo. Due to their exposed locations, the wines of the region are strong and warm and have a high alcohol content.
