Friuli is not only considered the best white wine region in Italy by connoisseurs. The vines grown on around 20,000 hectares benefit from the special climatic conditions in the north-east of the country. Here, warm Mediterranean air currents meet the cold air of the Alps, which causes particularly high temperature differences. Special flagships of the region are the native grape varieties Ribolla Gialla and Friulano, but also Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Grigio.
