In 1997, visionary winemaker Thomas Haag took over the Schloss Lieser winery. Under his leadership, the winery experienced a remarkable rebirth. Thomas Haag carried out a comprehensive modernization and redesign of the vineyards and winery, quickly re-establishing Schloss Lieser among Germany's leading wineries.
Thomas Haag was born into a winemaking family and developed a passion for viticulture at an early age. He studied viticulture and oenology at Geisenheim, a prestigious wine school in Germany. After completing his studies, he gained international experience in various wine regions, including France and New Zealand, where he furthered his knowledge and skills in viticulture.
