The Jumilla wine-growing region is located in the Murcia region, in the hinterland of the Mediterranean coast on the border with the Castilian highlands. The area is named after the town of Jumilla. On an area of ​​approx. 40,000 hectares, mainly alcohol-heavy and rather simple wines are produced here, which thrive well in the continental climate of the cultivation area with high summer temperatures and very little rainfall.
