Suckling over Château Pavie 2022
Big wine. The aromas are very opulent with blackberries, dark plums, ink and chocolate. It's full-bodied and very rich with plenty of fruit yet the tannins are fine and polished. This is a powerful and flavorful wine. Loads going on. This was the first year that included wines from Pavie-Decesse and Bellevue in the blend. Needs five years to come around.

Château Pavie 2022

Château Pavie 2022 is an impressive Saint-Émilion, whose intense concentration, depth, and complexity impressively underscore the high standards of this legendary winery. The cuvée, predominantly Merlot and complemented by Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, presents a deep, almost opaque color and unfolds a fascinating bouquet of black currants, ripe plums, cherries, and blackberries, accompanied by floral notes such as violets and a hint of truffle. Added to this are complex aromas of cedarwood, spices, chocolate, and fine minerality. On the palate, the wine impresses with its dense, yet incredibly elegant structure. The tannins are powerful, yet fine and perfectly integrated, giving the wine exceptional longevity. The acidity provides freshness and precision, while the mineral notes add an additional dimension. The finish is long, refined, and accompanied by a complex spiciness that lingers long aftertaste. Château Pavie 2022 is a wine of exceptional class, offering great pleasure in its youth but also possessing remarkable aging potential for decades to come.

Information about the winemaker:
The history of this winery dates back to Roman times, and it's fascinating to consider how many generations of winemakers have shaped this heritage. In the 19th century, the château experienced a rebirth under the leadership of Ferdinand Bouffard, who transformed it into a respected winemaking center. However, it was the Perse family, who took over the property in the 1950s, who initiated a remarkable transformation that led it to its current glory.
