Parker about 50&50 1990
The 1990 50/50 is outstanding. The price may be painful, but that is a problem with the most limited production wines of this quality. It offers sweet, rich, jammy black-cherry fruit intermixed with aromas of white chocolate, mocha, and vanillin. Medium to full-bodied, dense, smoky, and ostentatious, this lush, fat, exuberantly fleshy wine is delicious to drink, and should continue to hold for 8-9 years.

Avignonesi Capannelle 50&50 1990
The 50&50 stems from the deep friendship between the two Tuscan wineries Avignonesi from Montepulciano and Capanenelle from Gaiole in Chianti.
What began as an experiment is now one of the most famous wines in Tuscany.
While Avignonesi harvests the Merlot from Lodola in Valiano, north of Montepulciano, the Sangiovese comes from Capannelle in the Chianti Classico.
This wine proves once again how beautifully the Sangiovese and Merlot grape varieties can complement each other.
