Parker about Ornellaia 1994
Barrel samples of the 1994 Ornellaia, tasted in Europe with the proprietor, exhibited a soft, supple, easy-going style. The Marchese Lodovico Antinori makes these luxuriously fruity, rich wines from his vineyards in Bolgheri, an area not far from the famous Sassicaia. With the help of Bordeaux's brilliant oenologist, Michel Rolland, these wines seem to be going from strength to strength.

Suckling over Ornellaia 1994
I drank this at one of my favorite wine destinations in Tuscany: L'Enoteca Marcucci in Pietrasanta. 1994 is a weak year for Tuscany, but this wine goes. Pleasant and fruity but a little diluted. Medium body with fine tannins and a light finish.

Ornellaia 1994

Ornellaia 1994 is a renowned red wine from Tuscany, Italy. It comes from the Tenuta dell'Ornellaia winery, known for its high-quality wines. The 1994 vintage is often considered an excellent wine, appreciated for its complexity, structure, and finesse.
This wine is typically made as a blend of several grape varieties, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and possibly Cabernet Franc or Petit Verdot. Ornellaia 1994 is said to have a deep ruby red color and a complex bouquet of ripe dark fruits, herbs, tobacco, and spices.
On the palate, it is often praised for its balanced structure, with silky tannins, elegant fruitiness, and a remarkable length on the finish. The aging period of Ornellaia 1994 may have contributed to further development and complexity of the wine.
Because wine matures and changes over time, the taste and experience can vary from bottle to bottle. Nevertheless, Ornellaia 1994 is widely considered one of the wine's iconic vintages and is highly prized by connoisseurs.
