Parker about Tignanello 1988
Antinori's Tignanello, one of the first proprietary red Tuscan table wines, is gorgeous in 1988. The color is deep ruby/purple and the nose offers up penetrating aromas of sweet red and black fruits and toasty new oak. In the mouth, this medium to full-bodied wine offers wonderfully precise flavors, excellent richness, good acidity, soft tannins, and a spicy, long, rich finish. Drinkable now, this wine should continue to evolve for at least 10-12 years. I would have to rank this vintage of Tignanello alongside the glorious 1985.

Tignanello 1988

1988 Tignanello Rosso di Toscana IGT Marchesi Antinori
The 1988 Tignanello was very reserved in its youth, and one could already sense that the wine would have great longevity. Today, after more than 30 years, it still appears full-bodied and full of juice.
The wine has reached its drinking window and will continue to offer drinking pleasure for several years.
Recommendation Vintage Grapes Team:
We recommend decanting the wine for one to two hours before drinking it to give it enough air.
The dry red wine consists of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc and has an alcohol content of 13.5%.
Thanks to our extensive expertise and professional storage, you'll always receive your wine in perfect condition. This allows you to decide without worry whether you want to enjoy it immediately or in a few years.
