Parker about Château Duhart-Milon Magnum 2008
A magnificent sleeper of the vintage, the 2008 Duhart Milon is the shrewd consumer's wine to purchase by the case as prices do not yet reflect its qualitative resurgence. Composed of 73% Cabernet Sauvignon and 27% Merlot that came in at 13.09% alcohol, it is a surprisingly intense effort displaying a marvelous texture, plenty of black currant, licorice, unsmoked cigar tobacco and earthy characteristics, a full-bodied mouthfeel and stunning purity as well as density.

Château Duhart-Milon Magnum 2008

Château Duhart-Milon 2008 is a renowned red wine from the Bordeaux region of France. It is a Cru Classé, meaning it is one of the top wines of the Médoc region.
The wine comes from the Pauillac wine region, known for its high-quality red wines. Château Duhart-Milon is part of the famous Rothschild empire and shares a neighborhood with renowned wineries such as Château Lafite Rothschild.
In 2008, Château Duhart-Milon was produced under ideal conditions. The climate during the grape growth and ripening phase was balanced, favoring slow and even ripening. This resulted in a good balance between fruitiness and acidity in the wine.
Château Duhart-Milon 2008 typically presents a deep, dark ruby red color. On the nose, it unfolds complex aromas of black fruits such as blackcurrants, blackberries, and plums. Notes of cedarwood, tobacco, herbs, and spices can also be detected, which arise from the aging in oak barrels.
On the palate, the wine is elegant and well-structured. The tannins are present, yet silky and well-integrated. Château Duhart-Milon 2008 displays a beautiful concentration of fruit flavors, accompanied by subtle mineral and earthy nuances. The wine has good length and a persistent finish.
We recommend decanting Château Duhart-Milon 2008 before consumption to fully develop its aromas. It can be enjoyed in its youth, but will gain complexity and develop further over time. Cellaring for a few more years is recommended to achieve its full potential.
Overall, Château Duhart-Milon 2008 is a first-class Bordeaux wine that reflects the typical characteristics of the Pauillac terroir. It offers a harmonious blend of fruitiness, structure, and elegance, making it an excellent choice for wine lovers and collectors who appreciate high-quality Bordeaux wines.
