Parker about Alzero 1997

Quintarelli's 1997 Alzero is a masterpiece. Blessed with extraordinary, captivating aromatics, it reveals new layers of spice, licorice, coffee, chocolate, cassis, minerals and sweet dark fruit with each successive taste. What I find most remarkable about this wine is that, despite being packed with jammy, concentrated fruit, it is remarkably light on its feet. It is a wine I never tire of tasting and is not to be missed.

Alzero 1997

The Alzero 1997 by Giuseppe Quintarelli is a remarkable red wine from the Veneto region of northern Italy.

In the glass, it presents a deep ruby red with garnet reflections and a clear, glossy appearance. On the nose, it unfolds a rich bouquet of aromas dominated by ripe dark fruits such as blackberries, cassis, and black cherries. There are also subtle notes of spices such as cinnamon and cloves, accompanied by hints of leather and tobacco.

On the palate, the Alzero 1997 presents itself as a full-bodied and powerful wine with an impressive tannin structure and refreshing acidity. The finish is long and harmonious, with notes of dark fruits and spices that linger in the mouth long after drinking.

This wine was made from a unique blend of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot grapes, carefully selected and aged in French oak barrels. Giuseppe Quintarelli's Alzero 1997 is an outstanding wine, offering a treat for all wine lovers thanks to its profound aromas and impressive structure.

This wine is an excellent accompaniment to dishes such as game, beef, lamb, or mature cheeses. A special wine for special occasions that will continue to mature and develop for many years to come.
