Parker about Siepi 2021
This top-shelf wine from Mazzei is a blend of 50-50 Merlot and Sangiovese. The Sangiovese goes into tonneaux and the Merlot ages in 70% new barrique for 18 months. The 2021 Siepi (in a heavy glass bottle) opens to sweet fruit nuances of cooked cherry, blackberry preserves, cinnamon and nutmeg. This full-bodied wine is supple and very soft in terms of mouthfeel, and its flavor profile is expansive and all-encompassing. This wine is balanced and seamless, and the 2021 vintage is certainly one of the best editions of Siepi we've seen so far. This exciting 30,000-bottle production will go to market in September 2023.

Siepi 2021

The 2021 Siepi is a highly regarded Tuscan wine from Castello di Fonterutoli, known for its outstanding quality and refinement. It is a blend made primarily from Sangiovese and a portion of Merlot, and enjoys considerable renown in the wine world.
Typically, the Siepi 2021 presents a deep ruby red color in the glass and is characterized by a complex bouquet. Aromas of ripe dark berries such as black cherries and blackberries often dominate, accompanied by subtle notes of spice, herbs, and a hint of floral nuances.
On the palate, the 2021 Siepi is typically powerful yet smooth, with silky tannins and well-balanced acidity. This gives it remarkable structure and elegance. The fruitiness is often well-integrated and harmonious, while the wine exhibits a certain complexity and depth.
