Produktbeschreibung

Lorcher Bodental-Steinberg Riesling Auslese (0.375l) 2001

The Lorcher Bodental-Steinberg Riesling Auslese 2001 from Graf von Kanitz is a sweet Riesling from the Rheingau region, one of Germany's most famous wine regions. The Graf von Kanitz winery, with its long tradition, is known for its high-quality Rieslings, which reflect the region's characteristic minerality and freshness.

The Lorcher Bodental-Steinberg vineyard is characterized by its steep slopes and slate soil, which lends the wines a distinctive minerality and elegance. Auslese means the grapes are selectively harvested by hand, often under the influence of noble rot (botrytis), resulting in intense sweetness and complex aromas.

The 2001 vintage is considered a particularly good Riesling wine in Germany. This Auslese wine is expected to exhibit aromas of ripe stone fruit such as apricot and peach, as well as exotic fruits, accompanied by honey and floral notes. The typical Riesling acidity balances the sweetness and lends the wine freshness and vibrancy, making it very drinkable despite its sweetness. With over 20 years of aging, the wine has now developed impressive complexity and depth, with notes of dried fruit, a subtle spiciness, and hints of minerality thanks to the Lorch soil.

A well-aged Lorcher Bodental-Steinberg Riesling Auslese 2001 could be an excellent choice as a dessert wine today, or it could shine in combination with blue cheese, goose liver, or fruity desserts. This wine demonstrates the potential inherent in the noble sweet Rieslings of the Rheingau and should offer a truly enjoyable experience even after all these years.
