Parker about Château Doisy Daëne (0.375l) 1996
Tasted with Denis Dubourdieu at the chateau. The 1996 demonstrates a little more intensity on the nose than the '97 with supreme definition and mineralite, the 10% Sauvignon Blanc adding sharpness. The palate is very well balanced with vibrant honeycomb, white peach and apricot. Such a vivacious 1996, it has a tension and poise that really is quite entrancing. Barely seeming to have aged over 15-years, this is a Barsac that will repay long-term cellaring.
