Parker about Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey (0.375L) 2003
The 2003 has a deep amber/golden color. The nose is typical of the 2003 Sauternes with marmalade, orange peel, peach skin, touches of sea spray developing with time. There is good vigor and the aromatics are very open. The palate is well balanced with a fine line of acidity considering the vintage: quince, mandarin, Chinese five spice and bitter orange towards the finish. This is one of the best 2003 Sauternes out there.

Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey (0.375L) 2003

The 2003 Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey is an exceptional Sauternes that perfectly reflects the warmth and richness of this hot vintage. The color is a rich, deep gold that becomes even more intense with age. On the nose, the wine unfolds seductive aromas of ripe peach, candied pineapple, and apricot, accompanied by hints of honey, vanilla, and delicate spices.
On the palate, the 2003 vintage reveals its lush, almost opulent texture, balanced by lively acidity and carrying the intense fruit flavors. Ripe tropical fruits, orange marmalade, and caramel unfold in a silky, full structure. The finish is long, leaving notes of honey and dried fruits that linger long afterward.
An excellent Sauternes for special occasions, it pairs perfectly with foie gras, blue cheese, or fruity desserts. The Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey 2003 is already very ripe for consumption, but also has the potential to age and gain complexity over many years.
