Parker about Chateau La Fleur De Gay 1999
Low yields in addition to riper fruit have gotten this estate back on track. Only 7,000 bottles were produced of the 1999 La Fleur de Gay, a 100% Merlot cuvee that is bottled unfiltered. It exhibits a deep ruby/purple color, serious concentration, and a lovely perfume of black fruits mixed with minerals, toast, and cherries. The wine is nicely-textured and pure, with wonderful sweetness, harmony, and ripe tannin.
