Parker about Château Lafite Rothschild 2015
The deep garnet-purple shaded 2015 Lafite Rothschild is blended of 91% Cabernet Sauvignon and 9% Merlot and was matured for 20 months in new oak barrels from Tonnellerie des Domaines (their own cooperation). It is still sporting a lot of cedar at this nascent stage with a vibrant core of black raspberries, red currants and crushed plums plus touches of cigar boxes, violets and underbrush with a waft of tilled loam. Medium-bodied and elegantly styled with wonderful freshness and depth, it is compellingly earthy/minerally in the mouth with a frame of seductively silky yet very firm tannins and culminating in a very long, racy and pure finish. Boasting spectacular finesse and packed with nuances, clearly, given some of the challenges here in 2015, this is a masterpiece of diligence in the vineyards, careful selection and very clever crafting—bravo!

Château Lafite Rothschild 2015

The 2015 Château Lafite Rothschild is a blend of the classic Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot grapes. The grapes are carefully harvested by hand and then fermented in traditional wooden vats. Aging takes place in French oak barrels, which lend the wine additional complexity and finesse.
On the nose, the Château Lafite Rothschild 2015 unfolds an intense bouquet of black fruits such as cassis and blackberries, accompanied by nuances of tobacco, cedarwood, and spices. The aromas are deep and rich, with each nuance carefully balanced.
On the palate, the wine presents itself with impressive structure and a velvety texture. The tannins are ripe and well-integrated, and the wine displays remarkable concentration and richness. The fruity aromas continue on the palate, accompanied by elegant spicy notes. The finish is long, elegant, and characterized by a fine minerality.
Château Lafite Rothschild is renowned for its exceptional quality and its potential for aging over many years. The 2015 Château Lafite Rothschild is a remarkable wine that can be enjoyed now, but also offers the potential for long-term cellaring to further develop its complexity.
