Parker about Château Pontet-Canet 2021
Offering up wild, exotic aromas of blackberries, cloves and Indian spices mingled with notions of rose petal, bruised orchard fruit and cherry pit that evolve rapidly in the glass, the 2021 Pontet-Canet is medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy, with a layered mid-palate and refined tannins that assert themselves on the firm, saline finish. Always one of the Médoc's most singular, idiosyncratic wines, it will be interesting to see how it performs in bottle.

Château Pontet-Canet 2021

Château Pontet-Canet 2021 is an elegant red wine from Pauillac, distinguished by its balance and depth. It was produced biodynamically, underscoring the winery's sustainable philosophy. This vintage displays a harmonious interplay of dark berry fruits, such as cassis and blackberry, accompanied by floral nuances and a hint of graphite. On the palate, it presents itself smoothly with fine-grained tannins and a lively acidity that provides freshness. The finish is long and complex, with hints of herbs and subtle toasted aromas. The wine is approachable even when young, but has the potential to age for decades.
