Château Teyssier 2000

The 2000 Château Teyssier from Saint-Émilion is an excellent representative of one of Bordeaux's greatest vintages. The 2000 vintage produces powerful, expressive, yet elegant wines, and Château Teyssier is no exception.
In the glass, the wine displays a deep ruby red with youthful highlights. The bouquet is intense and seductive, with aromas of ripe black cherries, plums, and black currants accompanied by delicate toasted notes. Hints of vanilla, cedarwood, and sweet spices such as cloves and cinnamon underscore the rich fruit and add additional complexity to the wine.
On the palate, the Château Teyssier 2000 is powerful and full-bodied, with well-structured tannins that give it a firm yet supple texture. Fruit flavors dominate, with ripe dark berries and plums harmoniously interwoven with subtle notes of tobacco and chocolate. The acidity is well-integrated, lending the wine freshness, while the subtle oak spice and mineral nuances add additional depth and balance.
The finish is long and concentrated, with lingering aromas of dark fruits, spices, and a light smoky note. Château Teyssier 2000 is now at an excellent drinking level, but still has potential for further aging. It pairs perfectly with lamb dishes, grilled beef, or aged cheeses.
