Suckling over Frauenberg Pinot Noir Grand Cru 2022
This remarkable German pinot noir has a very complex nose of dry forest floor and smoke with notes of licorice and wild herbs. Super-silky on the very concentrated but only medium-bodied palate. The extremely fine tannins are already beautifully integrated at the very long, refined finish. 50% whole cluster fermented. Unfiltered. Drink from release.

Frauenberg Pinot Noir Grand Cru 2022

The 2022 Frauenberg Spätburgunder Großes Gewächs from Weingut Keller is an outstanding Pinot Noir that reflects the exceptional quality of the Frauenberg vineyard in Rheinhessen. This site is known for its calcareous soils and cool microclimate, which give the Spätburgunder its typical finesse, elegance, and mineral character. Through meticulous vineyard work and careful vinification, Klaus-Peter Keller has succeeded in creating a Spätburgunder that is among Germany's finest.
The 2022 vintage presents itself with a deep ruby red color in the glass. On the nose, the wine unfolds a complex spectrum of aromas of red berries such as cherries and raspberries, accompanied by delicate floral notes, spices, and a subtle smoky minerality. On the palate, the Frauenberg Pinot Noir is velvety and elegant, with fine, well-integrated tannins, lively acidity, and impressive fruit intensity. The mineral nuances typical of this site lend the wine depth and length.
The finish is long and harmonious, carried by a balance of fruit, acidity, and delicate spice. The Frauenberg Spätburgunder Großes Gewächs 2022 is a Pinot Noir of international stature, offering great drinking pleasure in its youth and gaining in complexity and expressiveness over the years. A first-class wine for lovers of elegant, terroir-influenced red wines.
