Parker about Massetino 2021
The Masseto 2021 Massetino is mostly Merlot with a touch of Cabernet Franc for good measure. The wine (packaged in a heavy glass bottle) is very richly concentrated and layered. You see (and taste) the opulent texture of the wine as it slowly coats the glass. Quality fruit is matched by carefully selected oak, and the intensity of both builds on the palate. This vintage is poised for especially long cellar aging. This vintage of Massetino (2021) scores neck-in-neck with the current vintage (2020) of Masseto.

Massetino 2021

Massetino is the "little brother" of the famous Masseto, a premium single-varietal Merlot wine from the same wine-growing region. It is usually made from younger vines from the same estate and tends to have a slightly more approachable and earlier-drinking nature than Masseto.
Although Massetino lacks the same complexity and depth as its more famous "big brother," it can still possess qualities such as fruitiness, finesse, and elegance. Its aromas can exhibit nuances of dark fruits, spicy notes, and a certain structure.
Each vintage of Massetino has its own characteristics, influenced by the specific climatic conditions during cultivation and winemaking. Specific information about a particular vintage of Massetino, including tasting notes, ratings, or characteristics of that vintage, can be found in current wine reviews, trade publications, or official winery publications. These sources often provide detailed insights into the quality and characteristics of Massetino in a particular vintage.
