Parker about Redigaffi 2014

Of the wines tasted in this historic retrospective, this is the bottle that most surprised and delighted me. The Tua Rita 2014 Redigaffi is a real showstopper with an assembly of fresh and especially aromatic fruit and floral details. The wine is medium lean in consistency, as you might expect from one of the coolest (and wettest) vintages that coastal Tuscany has seen in our lifetimes. There is wild cherry, cranberry, violet, lavender, mint, white pepper, dried spice and the list could go on. I'm giving it a higher score than I gave on the occasion of my first tasting many years ago.

Suckling over Redigaffi 2014

There's a spicy edge here, with aromas of grilled plums, herbs, soy, black truffles and olives. Full-bodied with firm, lightly grainy tannins. Saline, then evolves to coffee. Toasty and flavorful finish. 100% merlot. Drink now or hold.

Redigaffi 2014

The 2014 Redigaffi, a fine wine from the Tua Rita vineyards in the Maremma region of Tuscany, presents itself as a lighter yet refined vintage. This wine reflects the terroir, the meticulous winemaking, and the unique vintage. Let's delve into the world of the 2014 Redigaffi together:

Origin and Terroir: The sun-drenched vineyards of Tua Rita in the Maremma are home to the 2014 Redigaffi. The terroir, characterized by sea breezes and a unique soil composition, gives this wine its distinctive characteristics.

Grape variety: This vintage focuses on the Merlot grape, which, under the optimal conditions of the Maremma, develops an elegant and fruity expression.

Vintage 2014: The 2014 vintage was characterized by balanced weather conditions, leading to slow and even ripening of the grapes. This creates the basis for a lighter, yet sophisticated wine.

Aromas and Bouquet: The 2014 Redigaffi reveals a seductive bouquet of red fruits, including strawberries, raspberries, and cherries. Subtle floral notes and a light spice complement the fruitiness, and a hint of vanilla adds a delicate sweetness to the bouquet.

Taste and Structure: On the palate, the wine presents itself with a vibrant freshness and a smooth texture. Silky tannins are finely integrated and contribute to a pleasant mouthfeel. Balanced acidity underscores the fruitiness and lends the wine vibrancy.

Development potential: The 2014 Redigaffi is accessible and inviting even in its youth. However, with its light structure and freshness, it also promises positive development over time.
