Veneto region
With a vineyard area of around 80,000 hectares, the region in northern Italy nestled between the Venice Lagoon, Lake Garda and the Alps is one of the largest wine-growing regions in the country. Due to the different landscapes, Veneto is a very diverse growing region that produces a wide variety of grapes. It ranges from white grapes such as Prosecco or Garganega grapes to Pinot Grigio and red grapes such as Corvina and Raboso. Even the Romans appreciated this variety of grapes and practiced extensive viticulture in the region.
