Parker about Château Branaire-Ducru 2024
The 2024 Branaire-Ducru offers up a pretty and precise bouquet of cassis, violets and pencil shavings. Medium-bodied, supple and suave, with polished tannins and tangy acids, it's a fine-boned, delicate wine from Branaire that was harvested between 20 September and 9 October. It's a blend of 72% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Merlot and the rest Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot that attained 12.8% alcohol, and it's being raised in a touch less new oak than usual.

Château Branaire-Ducru 2024

The 2024 Château Branaire-Ducru presents itself as a classic representative of Saint-Julien with remarkable finesse and expressiveness. The nose unfolds a complex interplay of aromas of dark berries, particularly cassis and black cherry, accompanied by fine floral notes, a hint of violet, and subtle hints of graphite and noble cedar wood. On the palate, the wine is extremely balanced, with a precise, silky tannin structure and remarkable freshness. The fruit is clear and juicy, supported by a fine mineral tension that lends the wine elegance and length. The aging in French oak is perfectly integrated and underlines the complexity without being overpowering. The 2024 Branaire-Ducru is a wine of great harmony, focusing less on power and more on refinement, impressively expressing the terroir of the southern Médoc. A Saint-Julien with a classic profile and plenty of potential for long aging.
