Parker about Château Pichon Longueville Baron 2007
Tasted at BI Wine & Spirits' 10-Years-On tasting, the 2007 Pichon-Longueville Baron has more cohesion and intensity than the Pichon Lalande, with fresh tobacco and graphite-infused black fruit that have some gusto. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp acidity, not a complex Pichon Baron, but there is no question that it is endowed with fine minerality. And, who can resist that vibrant, graphite-infused finish that lingers long in the mouth. Drinking perfectly now, I can see this continuing to drink well for another 12-15 years. Tasted February 2017.

Château Pichon Longueville Baron 2007

On the nose, the Château Pichon-Longueville-Baron 2007 presents aromas of ripe dark fruits such as black currants and cherries. Subtle spicy notes of cedarwood, tobacco, and delicate vanilla blend in. The aromas are rather restrained, yet appealing and harmonious.
On the palate, the wine displays good structure with balanced acidity and silky tannins. The fruitiness continues, accompanied by nuances of dark chocolate and light earthy elements. The wine has a medium to long finish and ends with a pleasant, slightly spicy finish.
Although 2007 wasn't a particularly strong vintage, the Château Pichon-Longueville-Baron 2007 impresses with its elegance and drinkability. It is ideal as an accompaniment to grilled meat, lamb dishes, or mature hard cheeses.
