Parker about Dominus 2013
The 2013 Dominus is, to my way of thinking, one of the most profound wines Christian Moueix has yet made in his rather brilliant winemaking history, both in France and in Napa Valley. This wine, with very low yields of only 3,500 cases and a final blend of 89% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Petit Verdot and 4% Cabernet Franc, offers up notes of cedar wood, forest floor, loamy soil and oodles of blackberry and blackcurrant fruit . Very opaque purple in color, super-pure and intense, this wine has low acidity, but ripe, noticeable tannins. This is a 30- to 40-year wine and a profound effort from this famous vineyard in Yountville.

Dominus 2013

The 2013 Dominus is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. This vintage is known for its exceptional quality.
In the glass, the Dominus 2013 presents a deep, dark purple color with a hint of ruby at the rim, reflecting the wine's concentration and intensity.
On the nose, the wine unfolds complex aromas of dark fruits such as blackcurrants, blackberries, and cassis. These are accompanied by notes of dark chocolate, spices, cedarwood, and a subtle mineral nuance. The aromas are rich, elegant, and well-balanced.
On the palate, the Dominus 2013 presents itself with impressive structure and richness. The tannins are silky and well-integrated, giving the wine a pleasant texture. The fruity aromas continue, accompanied by a lively acidity that lends the wine freshness and vibrancy. The wine displays remarkable depth and complexity and has a long, persistent finish.

Information about the winemaker:
The history of the Dominus winery is inextricably linked to the history of Christian Moueix, one of the greatest and most well-known winemakers of our time. With more than five decades of experience in wine production in the legendary wine-growing region of Bordeaux and around 40 years of experience on the soil of the Napa Valley in the USA, there is probably no other winemaker in the world who has such an incomparable insight into the old and the new Weinwelt has won like Moueix.
