The 2022 Bernkasteler Lay Auslese (Gold Capsule) is clear, deep, fresh and coolish on the savory and saline nose that shows a flinty slate expression and intertwines with attractive yellow stone fruit (mango, mirabelle) aromas. Round and mouth-filling on the palate, this is a very elegant, lush and intense, stimulating saline and savory selection with delicate grip and fine tension. It's generous yet crunchy in its fine tannins and stony/saline grip. 7.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine from AP 19 23 in January 2025.
