Parker about Chapel of Ausone 2022
The 2022 Chapelle d'Ausone has turned out nicely, offering up aromas of sweet mulberries, blackberries and plums mingled with hints of violets, mint and creamy new oak. Medium to full-bodied, rich and textural, it's concentrated and generously extracted, with ripe acids and a saline, oak-inflected finish.

Suckling over Chapel of Ausone 2022
Red berries such as cherries and raspberries. Cassis. Full-bodied, very tight and focused on the palate with a linear acid and tannin backbone. Racy at the end. Contrasty. Plenty of energy. Just takes off. 65% cabernet franc and 35% merlot.

Chapel of Ausone 2022

Chapelle d'Ausone 2022, the second wine of Château Ausone, is hardly inferior to its big brother in terms of elegance and finesse. Characterized by a high proportion of Cabernet Franc, complemented by Merlot, it displays a deep, dark, crimson color and unfolds a complex bouquet of black cherries, dark berries, violets, and graphite, accompanied by subtle notes of spice, cedarwood, and fine chocolate. On the palate, the wine impresses with remarkable freshness, silky tannins, and lively acidity, giving it elegant structure and great finesse. The minerality, typical of the terroir of Château Ausone, adds an additional dimension and a long, precise finish. Chapelle d'Ausone 2022 offers great enjoyment even at a young age, but also has the potential for extended aging and will continue to evolve over the coming decades.
