Parker about Sauvignon Blanc Reserve 2021
Aged for 18 months in French 500-liter tonneaux (one-third new), the 2021 Sauvignon Blanc Réserve opens with an intense, elegant, finely smoky and herbal (parsley root, parsnip, leek) bouquet with dense and elegant fruit, dried orange and lemon/grapefruit zests as well as mineral notes of crushed limestone. Rich and elegant on the palate, this is a still young and very vital, citric-flavored white with remarkable intensity, tension and grip. Still underdeveloped and citric, this is a still tight and lean Sauvignon Blanc that needs another year or more to refine and open up. The ripeness of the grapes when harvested and the citric astringency and intensity on the finish indicates excellent aging capacity. 6,000 bottles were filled in July 2023 with moderate 12.5% stated alcohol thanks to the slow reopening and extended hang time. Screw cap. Tasted in August 2023.

Suckling over Sauvignon Blanc Reserve 2021
What a wild and exciting nose this astonishing sauvignon blanc has with curry leaf, fresh coriander, mint and preserved lemon aromas Super-fresh for a late release 2021, this has such great vibrancy, but also a wide range of caramelized tree fruits. Great aging potential. From the highest altitude section of the Morstein GG site. Fermented and matured in mostly 500 liter oak casks sur lie for 18 months. Drink from release. Sauvignon Blanc Reserve 2021

Alongside the Sauvignon Blanc Terra Rossa, which is now undisputedly one of the best Sauvignons in Germany, the Réserve appears even more concentrated thanks to its extended aging in wooden barrels. The Sauvignon Blanc Réserve is essentially a "golden cut."
In the style of great Burgundy wines, the Réserve is stylishly oaked, yet refined and elegant. Nevertheless, the wine offers plenty of power, yellow fruit notes, smoothness on the palate, and a firm structure and tension.
Origin
These grapes are the most beautiful and best grapes from the most valuable locations and oldest Sauvignon Blanc vineyards.
Expansion
Our Réserve was fermented spontaneously and aged on the full lees for 18 months in new wood (French oak).
