Parker über Valpolicella Monte Lodoletta 2002
Dal Forno's 2002 Valpolicella is a massively endowed effort revealing backward dark fruit, new leather, spices, herbs, roasted coffee beans and toasted oak on an imposing, tannic frame. Made in a super-concentrated style - even by Dal Forno's standards - it will require several years of cellaring for the tannins to be somewhat soft, although it is hard to imagine that will ever completely happen. Beginning with the 2002 vintage Dal Forno's Valpolicella is made from 100% dried fruit, whereas in previous vintages the wine had been made only partially with dried fruit.

Valpolicella Monte Lodoletta 2002
The Valpolicella from Romano dal Forno has become the flagship of the winery.
Other winemakers would be happy if they could achieve this quality with their Amarone.
This is a kind of Super Valpolicella, highly concentrated, complex and very long-lasting.

Informationen zum Winzer:
When it was founded in 1983, Romano dal Forno laid the foundation for a winery whose reputation as the origin of fine wines would soon precede him. The then 26-year-old winemaker was inspired by a meeting with the legendary Giuseppe Quintarelli, who is often simply referred to as the "Maestro del Veneto", not only with regard to his top wines, each a masterpiece in its own way.
