Morstein White Riesling Beerenauslese (0.5l) 1994

The 1994 Morstein Weisser Riesling Beerenauslese from Weingut Wittmann is an outstanding sweet Riesling from the renowned Morstein vineyard in Rheinhessen. Weingut Wittmann, known for its biodynamically cultivated wines, has created a wine of exceptional quality with this Beerenauslese.
The Morstein vineyard is one of the best sites in Rheinhessen, characterized by calcareous soils and a favorable microclimate that lends the grapes exceptional ripeness and complexity. A Beerenauslese is produced from selectively hand-picked, noble-rot (Botrytis-affected) grapes, which ensure a high concentration of sugar and aromas.
The 1994 vintage was an excellent vintage for noble sweet wines in Germany. This wine is expected to exhibit intense aromas of ripe stone fruits such as apricots and peaches, along with notes of honey and candied citrus. With over 25 years of aging, the wine has likely developed additional complex notes, such as dried fruits, a subtle spice, and perhaps light hints of caramel or nuts. The Riesling's acidity perfectly balances the rich sweetness, giving the wine freshness and vibrancy despite its age.
A well-ripened Beerenauslese like this Morstein Riesling can mature for decades and is perfect as an accompaniment to fruity desserts, strong cheeses, or simply as a luxurious solo wine.
