Suckling over Abtsberg Riesling Kabinett Methusalem Auction Wine 2023
Breathtaking white and yellow peachy fruit and incredible succulence are married to great energy on the concentrated and light-bodied palate. Just a hint of caramel, but it counterpoints the enormous wet-stone freshness and gives this the last kick in the extremely long, driving finish. From organically grown grapes with Fair'n Green certification. Very limited production.

Abtsberg Riesling Kabinett Methusalem Auction Wine 2023

The Abtsberg Riesling Kabinett No. 16 Auction Wine 2023 from Maximin Grünhaus is an outstanding and extremely rare Kabinett from one of the most famous vineyards on the Mosel. The Abtsberg, known for its steep slopes characterized by blue Devon slate, produces wines of impressive precision, finesse, and longevity. Selection No. 16 , bottled exclusively for the VDP auction, captivates with a fascinating combination of vibrant acidity, a delicate interplay of sweetness, and profound minerality. A complex range of aromas unfolds on the nose, with notes of white flowers, juicy apricot, candied citrus peel, and a delicate herbal spice. On the palate, the wine is incredibly delicate yet at the same time possesses enormous tension, carried by a crystalline, almost electrifying acidity that harmonizes perfectly with the delicate fruit sweetness. The long, salty, mineral finish underscores its provenance and enormous aging potential. A prime example of the classic Mosel cabinet in its finest form – precise, light-footed and with impressive depth.
