Amarone della Valpolicella Chapter Monte Olmi 1997

Tedeschi's Amarone della Valpolicella Capitel Monte Olmi 1997 is a magnificent expression of a mature Amarone, boasting impressive depth, elegance, and complexity. On the nose, it unfolds fascinating aromas of ripe dark fruits such as dried cherries, plums, and black currants, accompanied by nuances of raisins, dark chocolate, and licorice. Added to this are spicy hints of cinnamon, tobacco, and black pepper, which blend harmoniously with balsamic and earthy notes. On the palate, the wine is powerful, with velvety yet present tannins that lend it structure and longevity. The acidity is remarkably well-preserved, ensuring an excellent balance between fruit sweetness and freshness. The finish is long and complex, with a fine mineral character and hints of dark chocolate, espresso, and fine woods. A wine that, after more than 25 years, is at its peak, but can certainly continue to age for a few more years. Ideal with braised game, aged Parmesan, or simply as a meditative pleasure.
