Information about the winemaker:
Decades before the Maison was founded, the family ran a small cooperage. In 1731, Denis Latour acquired the first vineyards on the Côte de Beaune. His grandson Jean launched the Maison Latour in 1797. The following Louis-Etienne did not just continue to run the winery, but also made a name for himself as a wine merchant. In 1867 Louis III. to Rue des Tonnelliers, where the winegrowing family still has its headquarters today. The rise of the Maison was also underscored by the acquisition of Château Corton Grancey in 1891, which, in addition to 33 hectares of the best vineyards, also includes a historic press house that still today attracts wine lovers from all over the world.
