Parker about Pettenthal Riesling Grand Cru 2022
The golden-yellow colored 2022 Nierstein Pettenthal GG is very fine and pure on the nose that delivers elegant, perfectly ripe and concentrated fruit with spicy-mineral and iodine tones. Silky and very fine on the palate, this is a highly elegant and savory-finishing Riesling with discreet power, enormous length and a stunningly cool, terroir-driven nature due to the east-facing slope with loam and the hedges that give shade from 4 pm onward. The finish is intense and mouthwatering and reveals gorgeous grip. 12.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in July 2023.

Suckling over Pettenthal Riesling Grand Cru 2022
It's hard to imagine a dry riesling more mineral than this staggeringly pure and precise masterpiece. Still very closed on the nose, but if you make wines for the ages, then that's how it can end up at this very early stage of the never-ending story. And this fabulous structure is wrapped in a giant cloak of perfectly ripe stone fruit. Super long finish with off-the-scale wet stone minerality. From organically grown grapes. Drinkable now, but best from 2025. Stuart Pigott Senior Editor

greatest depression, Carolin's father bought some rows of vines. At that time,
