Niepoort's Colheita Port 1971 is an exquisite example of a mature Tawny Port, originating from a single vintage and aged in small wooden casks for several decades. Niepoort, a renowned port wine house, is known for its exceptional craftsmanship and the production of high-quality ports that impress with their complexity and depth.

The Colheita Port 1971 displays a beautiful, deep golden to mahogany hue, reflecting its long barrel aging. The aroma is intense and complex, characterized by rich notes of dried fruits such as figs, dates, and raisins. Added to this are hints of caramel, toffee, honey, nuts, and delicate spices such as cinnamon and nutmeg. The history of the traditional company begins almost 200 years ago, when Franciscus Marius van der Niepoort, a young, ambitious Dutchman from near Amsterdam, laid the foundation for the wine company. After emigrating to Portugal and gaining some experience in the wine trade, he founded today's winery in 1842. According to the region, he focused on port wines.
