The 2013 Puligny Montrachet 1er Cru Clavoillon, which was bottled in June, has a well defined bouquet with flint and light smoky scents with just a hint of quince coming through with aeration. The palate is nicely poised with good weight on the entry, a touch of light honey and mandarin, poised if not persistent on the finish. I would afford this for a couple of years in the cellar.

The Puligny-Montrachet Clavoillon 1er Cru 2013 comes from a premier vineyard in the Côte de Beaune, Burgundy. The Clavoillon vineyard is classified as a Premier Cru and is located near some of the most prestigious Chardonnay sites. The soil consists of clay and limestone, providing the perfect foundation for producing wines with depth and minerality.

Domaine Leflaive is a respected biodynamic producer known for its meticulous vineyard management and commitment to producing the highest quality wines. The 2013 vintage was cultivated according to biodynamic principles, promoting soil and vine health and producing high-quality grapes. The wine is fermented in French oak barrels, some of which are new to ensure subtle oak characteristics. Batonnage (lees stirring) enhances the wine's texture and complexity, and malolactic fermentation ensures a mild acidity.

The Puligny-Montrachet Clavoillon 1er Cru 2013 displays a brilliant golden yellow color. On the nose, it unfolds an intense aroma of ripe citrus fruits, white flowers, and a hint of roasted nuts. Domaine Leflaive is one of the most famous wineries in Burgundy. The history of the domaine can be traced back centuries, but Joseph Leflaive is said to be the actual founder of today's winery. Shortly after the end of the First World War, he had to cope with the bankruptcy of his steelworks and decided to return to his homeland in Burgundy in order to continue the winemaking tradition of his ancestors and to expand his winery.
